Readings at events are shorter, about 20-25 minutes, private readings are longer, at 30-40 minutes. The volume of reading at events allows me to charge less also.
No. Mediumship is a topic of discussion that I could drone on and on about, but I won’t here. For FAQ purposes, no I am not a medium and I do not contact the other side except for incredibly special occasions that would never occur publicly or for someone else.
Gosh I hate this word. “Psychic” is a trade word that was used as an umbrella term to sell readings to an uninformed public. Remember the nineties? I do and I loved them, though the public was not necessarily well informed on the practice of divination. Readers come from all over the spiritual map, and use a variety of spiritual traditions and tools to offer guidance to their clients. But in order to convey their wares effectively to a public that didn’t know anything about their practice (and frankly didn’t need to know), they all seemed to use this word at events and in advertisements and such. I still see it pretty frequently. Which is, annoying. 😊 Thankfully the public is becoming less ignorant of our practices and the market is becoming more of an accurate representation of the diversity of products and services we can offer.
But do I have intuitive abilities? You bet! 😊 Most diviners do, and most people do too! The trick to finding your reader is to find the person that sees the part of you that they can help with at that time in your life.
I am a practitioner of spirituality that existed before the advent of Abrahamic faiths. There is a spiritual side to me (and most other witches) that can be compared to “religious beliefs”, but they are nothing like the top-down power structures of Abrahamic faiths. Usually what I say to people is that “my religion is Earth-based", which is true enough.
Witchcraft is itself a set of practices, not a set of beliefs. Witches vary in both practice and belief, dependent upon many things: culture, family, society, personal experiences, etc. Witches practice their craft alongside and in support of their spiritual beliefs. I am a middle-aged practitioner at this point and have practiced long enough to know that it is both perilous and futile for any witch to explain the intricacies of their craft to most people, with all due respect.
